The Anathean Chronicle

March Shareholder Meeting

Good Day everyone, thank you for attending.

I thought i'd make the effort to inform the few people who read this blog about the various projects i'm currently working on.

We had a good quarter, considering I only made 3 posts and also started this shabang. I'm very proud of The Black Tar Road Post, it took me a few days to finish but I am very happy with the final product.
I'm planning on expanding the tables in the future, either more entries/tables or more elaboration in the descriptions. Since the conception of the idea, I knew i'd be having to come back and at least balance the probabilities.

Currently, i'm brainstorming an Appendix Post for The Black Tar Road. One that includes content similar to Appendix I: Dungeon Dressing in the AD&D 1e DMG.

Yeah I'm a fucking hack

I wanted to save the sheer amount of tables and entries for Overland Freeway Ruin Dressings for a separate post, as to not give my synapses a fucking hernia. There'll be themed Dressing tables for the different Ruined Structures, Highway Barriers and Long Stretches of Empty Road. Expect "What the Graffiti says? In what language?", Salvaged Machinery tables and more Fun Showpieces to add to your Science-Fantasy Games.

Castle Blackstone Megadungeon

Oh yeah, my Megadungeon =). All that's left to do is upload the last 2/3 of the 1st level, at which point I may make a Primer Post to aid in those who enjoy the Dungeon and want more juicy GM Information to chew on.
That is not all however, I also plan on slowly updating the content over time as I keep running the dungeon and get post-nut clarity level enlightenment on any mistakes I made.
This may involve "Re-Balancing" (Barfs and Shits) the random encounters, altering how the factions act. I don't expect to need to revise the entries themselves but that is also on the table. I want to ensure that the things I have posted on here are of good gameable quality, I have 0 interest in shoveling slop to Gamers in exchange for OSR Clout and Money.

Other than that though, me digitizing the Dungeon means I am re-incentivized to begin working on it again. Currently i'm still keying the Northernmost portion of Level 1 and beginning the first part of mapping Level 2. Exciting times.

Morale: The Roleplaying Game

This one has been kind of on the backburner since I started, mostly because I know that a Morale Sub-system where you track numbers isn't particularly to most people's tastes. I won't even toot my own horn. If you already use the Morale and Reactions Rules/Tables from the AD&D 1e DMG and have 0 issues with it, you don't need my Morale Rules.

These are mostly a distillation and refinement of that system anyways, simplifying everything to a D12 Table and curating the tables to the way I run and the situations I find pop up at my table most often.
Now, there will be specific tables to roll on based on what type of NPC you talk to. A Shopkeeper's feelings towards you not only affects pricing and availability at their shop, but may begin to affect your experience elsewhere as word gets out.
Same with Hirelings, Piss off or Kill too many and they'll begin to require higher payments possibly either not taking the offer or looking for the first chance to rob you.
All that good stuff, y'know. I'm confident that it'll be a fun post, but I expect it to not pick up a lot of traction.

The Anathean Campaign

And here, is where I get to shill my Heartbreaker Passion Project.

I began to work on a new Starting Zone for this blog specifically. Something that shows off the Anathean Vibe, showcasing the Post-Apocalyptic Western Faux-Medival Sci-Fantasy I love so much.

To go along with it, i've also begun concocting a Custom Character Creation System to go with the setting. 3 Stats, Athleticism/Intellect/Charisma; Randomly rolling for Race, with each rolling randomly for a Profession that gives them their "Class" (Purely for mechanics) and a list of items they start with. Races include: Human, Dwarf, Halfling, Alux and Felinid.

Blof-Hexmap Hexes are 5 miles, sub-hexes are 2.5 miles each

This is just a rough draft, but I wanted a Hexmap that was decently dense full of settlements and dungeons along with points of interest. To the North is the Edge of The Old Farroan Empire, a civilization on the verge of collapse. To the South is Yax'Lan Territory, belonging to the original inhabitants of the Area (Largely inspired by Mexican cultures, people and civilizations). The island to the Right belongs to a Dwarven Society that migrated hundred of years ago, mostly interacting with the Natives of Yax'Lan.

The Black Tar Road is heavily included, and the General Scenario is one familiar if you've played Fallout: New Vegas. Supply lines are drying up, communication is drying up, and everyone is grasping at straws as The Old Farroan Empire experiences a Civilization Collapse.
I want to have 1-2 Settlements and at least a Dungeon, along with the required portion of the Hexmap, keyed out before I post any of it.

Afterword

I hope that you stick around to see the many projects coming to this blog, but more than that I hope that you, whoever is reading this, are inspired to use this stuff (Even to make your own! Fuck all this noise right?). I'm excited for the future, even though there is still lots of work to get done.
